Continuity errors:
1. During the baseball scene when Carlisle is up to bat, he points out his shot, and in the background you see Esme, Rosalie and Jasper, but no Bella who is suppose to be umpire. When Alice throws the pitch and he is about to hit it she still isn’t there, but when he starts to run and you’re looking at his back side, Bella is suddenly there behind Esme.
2. After they leave Edwards house through his bedroom window and Edward asks Bells “Do you trust me”, Bella’s shoes and pants are muddy. They weren’t muddy when they were in his bedroom.
3. In the scene where Bella is in the hospital, when the camera is up close to her face, the breathing tubes are right by her eyes, but when the shot is far from her face, the tubes are sitting on her cheeks.
4. When Bella and Edward talk in the woods, Bella drops her backpack behind a tree. The backpack then moves in front of the tree, and then disappears. Since the backpack is bright red, it’s hard to miss.
5. When Bella and Charlie are sitting in the diner near the beginning of the film, the items/bottles on the table move themselves between shots, and as Waylon walks away from the table, the liquid in Bella’s glass disappears in one shot.
6. After Edward saves Bella from being crushed by the van, while he is holding her, Bella’s hair is outside of her jacket covering up her hood. When the shot changes her hair is tucked beneath the jacket and the hood is visible. When the shot changes back, her hair is covering up her hood.
7. In the scene where Edward reveals what he is to Bella, the button down shoulder epulet on his jacket goes from being unbuttoned to being buttoned throughout the scene.
8. When Bella enters biology and Edward has finally returned, as she walks over to her desk the large book sitting on the edge repositions itself from sitting horizontally to vertically between shots.
9. When leaving from the baseball scene, Emmett’s jeep goes from being dirty on the sides with mud from the tires, to being clean.
10. While Bella is hanging out inside the van at the La Push beach and Jacob and his friends come to hang out, Jacob turns to grab a tub of Red Vines. In some shots he has the tub next to him, but in others he doesn’t. Also you can see that the guy next to Sam takes a bite of a Red Vine in one shot, and in the next he does not have the Red Vine in his hand anymore.
11. When Bella is sitting with Edward near the lake asking his questions about his family and whether they have abilities like Edward’s mind-reading, her woolen mittens jump from her hands to her lap
12. When Edward apologizes to Bella “for being rude, but thinking it’s the best way” in the greenhouse during the school trip, the students behind them suddenly change their positions and locations between shots.
13. When Mr. Molina pours the glass of ‘compost tea’ on the school trip, the amount in the glass lowers between shots.
14. As Bella and Edward arrive to the baseball field, they pull up in the SUV, then walk along what seems to be a river’s edge, with a tall waterfall in the background. You never see the waterfall during the baseball game, and when they leave the field and walk to the SUV, the SUV is parked practically on the field, a few steps away from where they are standing.
15. In the scene where Edward was bitten by his father he was bit on the right side when the mark is on the left.
16. After Bella realizes he is a vampire, Edward moves around a lot (closer and farther away) while he talks to her while squatting in the tree and she is standing on the ground. With different camera angles the space between them changes back and forth drastically.
17. When Victoria is leading the police and dogs on a chase eastward, she leaves her bare footprint on a mound of dirt, and her foot is pointed forward. When Charlie catches up and inspects the footprint, it is pointed at an angle.
18. In the scene after Bella tells Edward she trusts him, he jumps into a tree, explains about his family’s hunting habits, then hangs off of one of the branches. In the first shot of his position, he has both hands up on branches on either side of his arm. In the next shot, one arm is at his side and the other is up on the branch. Then in the next shot, both hands are back on the branches on either side of him.
Visible crew or equipment
1. When Bella pulls up in her truck for her first day at Forks High, as the camera pans from her truck as she parks it into shot, you can see the camera and boom reflected in the triangular window.
2. When Charlie takes Bella up to her bedroom at the beginning of the movie, you can see a thick black microphone wire running from Bella’s jeans up her shirt. They are not her iPod wires, as those are white
3. In the scene when Edward and Billy pass each other in their cars and glare at each other, as Edward is pulling away in this shot you can catch a glimpse of the tops of the crews heads reflected in his back window.
4.In one of the aerial shots of Edward and Bella in the tree, you can see safety equipment, most likely a harness attached to Edward’s back.
5. In the Scene where Bella’s dad tells her of the new tires, you can see the boom mic reflected on the pickup.
6. When Edward and Bella are in the forest and they are talking about what Edward really is, there is a microphone in view at the top of the screen.
Revealing Mistakes
1. There is a brief scene toward the beginning in which Bella has a flashback of Edward’s eyes being black. In the short snippet, you can see the rim of the contacts he’s wearing.
2. When Bella is driving the truck away after she says she’s leaving Charlie to go to Phoenix; when Edward is going to get in the truck when he’s on the side of it, you can tell its a stunt double.
3. When Bella is walking out of her house while talking with Charlie on the first icy morning, before she slips on the ice you can see under her jeans that she is wearing knee pads, and you can see them again once she stands up after falling.
4. When Edward and Bella ride up to the baseball game in the jeep, they make one set of tracks on the ground. When they’re rushing to leave, the shot shows that there are actually two sets of tracks running almost perfectly inside each other.
5. In the Dance Studio, there is a point where James rams Edward’s head into the mirrors, shattering the surface. However, Edward’s reflection on the shattered surface remains intact, instead of being a fractured reflection, as would have been the case when a mirror shatters.
6. In the baseball scene, when the nomad vampires appear, you can see the rim of Laurent’s contact lenses when they do up-close shots.
